New Year, New You?
This year I am decidedly less introspective than I was last year, but as always, I came up with at least one new year's resolution. I also came up with a list of relationship resolutions and the beginning of my lifetime list-o-rama, things I'd like to do before I die.
Because, as I told Rawb, soon we will all be dead.
So it's good to make goals.
Looking back, I had a pretty tumultuous year. I'm hoping with my surgery over, my new living situation, and my new job (oh, ha, I haven't told you about that yet, have I?) that things will be much smoother this year.
One can only wait and see, I suppose.
But the forecast looks sunny. In the past week, I've used more power tools than any woman ever should. My house looks lovely and I feel strangely optimistic. Who knew that home repair was so rewarding?
Okay, enough drivel. On with the lists:
The One Resolution of the New Year:
Score mad diamonds (this means I can not buy them for myself, but may, in extreme circumstances, steal them)
The Relationship Resolutions:
Learn to listen, and respond objectively or not at all
Remember to treat others as I would want to be treated
Stop thinking the worst in all situations
Search for positive things and praise people for them
Stop being defensive
Offer less criticism
Be open, honest, and trusting.
Remember that I'm worth loving and therefore, do not put up with neglect and/or emotional abuse
Learn to say no the first time I think it
Trust my instincts, they're very rarely wrong
And of course, I have the longer lifetime lists on their own happy little site now. Please, go see what I've been up to, and where I hope to be in the future.
Happy new year, everyone.
