Back to school and it seems the whirlwind of activities and papers shall never end. After work we rush home to make dinner, play for the tiniest amount of time, and then all hop into my bed together where the boys fall asleep as I study by the light of the smallest nightlight. Eventually I fall asleep, only to wake every hour or two, scared by the latest nightmare that has chosen to haunt me. The boys sleep nearby, blissfully unaware that my inability to cope with life has crept into my sleep. I kiss each of their foreheads, pull the blanket up to my chin, and sleep again.
