I'm still not sure what to say. Imagine that. Stormy has sent me many things to post here but I just can't bring myself to gather any ... whatever it might take ... to do it. So yeah.
My kids, who normally wear uniforms to school, were allowed to wear red, white, and blue today. The teachers in their school talked to them about what happened before I ever got a chance to see them. That sort of upset me. Steven knew about it and even Daegan, who is only 5, was talking about it when I picked them up afterschool. I think I should have been given the chance to be the one to tell them. I know these things are important to discuss at school ... but maybe for older kids. Kindergarten is a bit much.
Innocence lost at 5. How very sad for our children.
